I have been musing about writing the anniversary blog for a while but eventually decided that it would be churlish not to say thank you to everyone who accepted my invitation to open the garden gate. You have been charming guests and I have enjoyed your company, your advice and sparkling wit. Many of you have made me smile, convulse with laughter and inspired me. So the garden will be open for another year and you are welcome.
I am sure that some of you must have thought that perhaps you had been invited to the Mad Hatter’s tea party or at least speculated on the nature of the herbs that I use in my cooking. Beltane fires, libations for the wee folk, forests under the sea, stealth birds, breakfast by moonlight, swan roads, seaweed hunting, islands in the mist and sky dancing! These are the tales that come from the loom of the weaver of dreams. I seek no more than to amuse and divert you with my garden of delights in the Outer Isles

I love your post. Linking very slightly to Socrates, do you know the difference between Knowledge and Wisdom…. Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, Wisdom is knowing one would not put it in a fruit salad. This was quoted at a meeting I once attended.

Happy Anniversary! Funnily enough I’ve decided to hold a tea party in Summer and was even thinking about making this a Mad Hatter’s tea party… so you post made me smile even more than usual. I love your sense of humour and stories of wee folk so I’ll be continuing to nosey over your garden gate!

See, I knew you would find something else to do! I am very grateful for the almost accidental discovery of your open gate, and have thoroughly enjoyed your hospitality over the last few months. Rambling in the Garden will celebrate its first birthday soon too, but I kept my head well down in the early days, not realising what I was missing by doing so. Thank you, my garden blog is totally out of control and has been taken over by total nonsense. I will impose discipline and try and write a garden post as soon as the garden decides that it is safe to come out of hibernation, probably sometime in June.

Well as another supposed garden blogger who ignores the garden in the winter and blogs about whatever is in my head, I enjoy your wide ranging blog very much. I also like the fact that however difficult my conditions are up here yours are always tougher! A garden can be made pretty much anywhere!
Sorry Elizabeth I have been awol, but thank you for your kind comments. Most gardens have their challenges but that it is all part of the joy when it finally goes right. I love reading about and looking at other people’s gardens and although the green envy creeps in at times, they also inspire me.
