This posts celebrates all the women who garden, grow food for their families, flowers to delight us and make ours a green and pleasant land.
To all the ladies who toil in adversity, never give up and who will never receive accolades for their triumphs other than a smile, I salute you.
“God made rainy days so gardeners could get the housework done.” – Anon
I’m saluting too, although I am sure there are also many men who toil in adversity, never give up and who will never receive accolades for their triumphs let alone a smile. I was thinking that this date must tie in with Women’s World Day of Prayer but that seems to have been the week earlier
We will have a round of applause for the menfolk too. However, I wanted to celebrate the women who cultivate the land, gardens and window boxes, especially those who have too toil to feed their families.
There are probably too many “days of..” but some of them are worth noting. I missed Word Book Day and Women’s World Day of Prayer totally escaped!
Yes, lots of ‘Days’, but I suppose they do at least highlight different issues which is good thing. Hurrah for women and all they do! And hurrah for bloggers who draw attention to worthy causes 🙂
